January 08...the begining of one year.

I arrived on a Tuesday evening....spent a couple of days with the previous Au pair, Krystle showing me the ropes of the city. I never knew such things as a "gleis seben" or a "halb tax" existed until then. On Saturday morning, we drove her to the airport and then headed to the family's chalet in Davos. Before making the two and a half hour drive, we picked up a couple of things from the house....as I lost the oldest daughter, Nadine (only to find her outside) and was carrying Patricia around with no shoes on. (It was winter, mind you) Needless to say, the first hour alone with the children was not the best. I think the parents had their doubts! But the holiday in the mountains went smoothly. It was a little difficult to be so close to the family so soon, though. The chalet is not so big. Also, the language barrier frightened me at first. I did not want one of the girls to be hurt or need something I could not give them due to misunderstandings. As time went on, this proved to be no problem! (You start to guess...a lot!)

The girls' ski school...or "schie schule" in Swiss German.

Davos
I got to ski twice while there....except on the first day, Rene took me to the highest hill....so I would call it more "walking down a hill" than skiing. Never though I would live to tell the story!!!

Leaving...

Now I have to write in past tense...dangit!!! I left Switzerland on the 14th of January...2008. Leaving home was really hard...with all these beautiful faces...

but I knew it would be worth it...

Begining...

So, in two weeks marks my ten month anniversary of being over here in Switzerland, and I thought now would be a good time to show you all what I have been up to. Earlier, I made a blog spot but unfortunately forgot the name of my site...ooops! Auntie J told me to start one when I first arrived.......better late then never, ay?! I guess this is going to take some remembering on my part...but I will start with my first trip and continue onwards!!!! Hope everyone is doing well. I'm excited to show you "oh, the places...." I have been! (still missing you Megan!) Love you all!
